<br />" <br /> <br /> <br />MINUTES <br /> <br />Week of November 25, 1996 <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by Chainnan Richard Wojt. Commis- <br />sioner Glen Huntingford and Commissioner Robert Hinton were both present. <br /> <br />COMMISSIONERS' BRIEFING SESSION <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES: The minutes of November 18, <br />1996 were approved as written by motion of Connnissioner Hinton, seconded by <br />Commissioner Huntingford. The motion carried by a unanimous vote. <br /> <br />Ila Mikkelsen, Treasurer re: Declaring Surplus Property: Treasurer <br />Ila Mikkelsen reported that a property owner has submitted a request to purchase a <br />piece of County property located adjacent to their property. Since the County <br />received the property they want in a tax foreclosure sale the Board must declare the <br />property surplus to start the process to sell it at public auction. Sabrina Hathaway, <br />Treasurer's Office, reported that the Public Works Department has reviewed tl1Ìs <br />process with the property owners. Ila Mikkelsen reported that the property is cur- <br />rently assessed at $20,000.00. The Board directed that the Public Works Depart- <br />ment be asked how the transportation circulation in the area will be impacted if this <br />property is sold, to review the access to lots in the area because of the creek, and if <br />there may be a future need for this property. <br /> <br />Support of Advertising Campaign in Clallam and Jefferson Coun- <br />ties: Chairman Wojt explained that the Peninsula Daily News has an advertising <br />campaign called "Save a Job - Shop at Home" in Jefferson and Clallam County and <br />they have asked if the County would support it by contributing $100.
