Commissioner B. G. Brown and Commissioner Larry W. Dennison were both <br />present. <br /> <br />BUSINESS FROM COUNTY DEPARTMENTS <br />PUBLIC WORKS <br /> <br />HEARING NOTICES ( 2) re: Preliminazy Draft of the Flood Control <br />p:;lans: Brinnon and ouilc$ne Flood Control Districts: Carter Breskin, <br />planning and Programming Manager, reported that two hearings need to be held <br />~o otitain public input on the preliminary drafts of the Flood Control Plans <br />for the Brinnon and Quilcene Flood Control Districts. Gary Rowe reported <br />that the Advisory Boards for these Flood Control Districts are not active. <br />Feedback from the community is needed for these plans. It is hoped that <br />these. Advisqry Boards can be re-activated after the plan are adopted. These <br />plans could be presented to the community in a workshop format, Carter <br />Breskin added. <br /> <br />After discussion of the differences between a public hearing and a public <br />meeting, and the cost of having the consultant be at more than one meeting, <br />commissioner Dennison moved to set the public hearing for the Quilcene Flood <br />Control District on January 22, 1990 at 7:00 p.m. at the Quilcene Community <br />Center, and to set the public hearing for the Brinnon Flood Control District <br />on January 23, 1990 at 7:00 p.m. at the Brinnon Senior Center. Commissioner <br />B. G. Brown seconded the motion which carried by a unanimous vote. <br /> <br />Purchase Requisition: Full Size, Four Door, Police Sedan for the <br />Jefferson County Sheriff'sDe~ent: This requisition is for three 1990 <br />Capri, four door sedans with full pOlice equipment, to replace cars for the <br />Sheriff's Department, Public Works Director, Gary Rowe, reported. Commis- <br />sioner B. G. Brown moved to approve and sign the purchase order for three new <br />cars for the Sheriff' sDepartment. commissioner Dennison seconded the motion <br />which carried by a unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> <br />State Environmen~l Policy Act Review: County Road Project C8.9J761, <br />Portage Canal Bridge No. 18E, Replaceme~t of Pier Fenders: Aubrey Palmer, <br />Office Engineer, reviewed the environmental checklist for this project to <br />remove the pier fenders from beneath the Portage Canal Bridge No. 18E. In <br />1987 the project was originally designed to remove and replace the bridge <br />fenders. Now the project is being re-evaluated to see if the fenders can <br />just be removed. Commissioner Dennison moved to issue a determination of <br />~on-significance for the Portage Canal Bridge pier Fender project. <br />'ommissioner B. G.
