Commissioners Glen <br />Huntingford and Richard Wojt were both present. <br /> <br /> Judi Morris, Treasurer and Jack Westerman, Assessor re: Mandatory Notice of Tax <br />Refunds and Cancellations: Judi Morris explained that every year the Treasurer provides a list of <br />property tax refunds and cancellations for the prior year, which is done through a written notification to <br />the Board. This year there is an extraordinary property tax refund to Port Townsend Paper which totaled <br />$652,938.14. Jack Westerman explained why the tax refund was due Port Townsend Paper and how it <br />will impact taxes for the County and junior taxing districts in the future. <br /> <br /> The Board met in Executive Session from 8:15-8:30 a.m. with Assessor Jack Westerman <br />regarding a personnel issue. <br /> <br /> Meeting with UFCW Shop Stewards re: Medical Rate Relief: Shop Steward Cammy <br />Brown presented a petition signed by 88 members of the UFCW regarding the rate holiday (no insurance <br />premiums charged) for medical insurance benefits County employees received from the Retail Clerks <br />Welfare Trust. The employees are requesting that this cost savings be passed on to them since the <br />benefits are part of the negotiated Union package. Commissioner Huntingford pointed out that the <br />UFCW employees have received step increases each year and the County pays their medical insurance <br />premiums. Cammy Brown reviewed and provided copies of the section of the Jefferson General <br />Hospital contract dealing with medical insurance premiums, as well as a copy of the County UF CW <br /> <br />Page 1 <br /> <br /> <br />
