Rowe <br />Deputy Director of Public Services: David Goldsmith <br /> <br />MINUTES <br /> <br />Week of February 1, 1999 <br /> <br /> The meeting was called to order by Chairman Dan Harpole. Commissioners Glen <br />Huntingford and Richard Wojt were both present. <br /> <br /> Review Various Advisory Boards/Committees List: After reviewing the list of commit- <br />tee/advisory boards, the Board members concurred that the LTAC be added and that Commissioner <br />Huntingford represent the Commissioners on that committee. <br /> <br /> PUBLIC SER VICES BRIEFING SESSION: Director of Public Services Gary Rowe <br />reported: <br />· There will be a meeting with the Health and Human Services Department this week to resolve <br /> the issues for finalizing the 1999 Budget. <br />· A meeting will be scheduled with Interim Public Works Director Frank Gifford regarding the <br /> 1999 staffing schedule issues which weren't resolved during the budget process. <br />· The hiring of the Natural Resource Analyst was discussed and how that position relates to the <br /> need for an Environmental Engineer in the Public Works Department and the impact of the work <br /> on water and salmon issues on the Environmental Health Department. Gary Rowe will discuss <br /> these needs further with the other Departments and report back to the Board <br />· The Water Tehm is putting together a proposal for grant funding for $350,000 for projects and <br /> $150,000 for staffing and administration that will be submitted to the Southwest Puget Sound <br /> group. <br />· This week a presentation on the proposed Gateway Visitor Center will be made at a meeting of a <br /> sub-committee of the RTPO at the John Wayne Marina near Sequim. <br /> <br />Page 1 <br /> <br /> <br />
