Most
importantly in my opinion Jeffco has truly broken new ground in its efforts to end the
seemingly limitless efforts to subvert the best efforts of policy makers to preserve the
limited existing healthy shorelines and protect the damaged ones from further excesses.

I was a custom builder for more that 35 years, I have had a number of clients in those
years that thought that it was their God given right to bend every rule that could possibly
provide protection for their own construction efforts or the interests of their new neighbors
.Doubtlessly, the present and probably the past resistance individuals are yet active in
their efforts to defeat the current SMP as they have in the previous 15 years that I know of.
The present lot size concerns are at present little more that the a continuation or the
result of forcing of poor public policy into the previous code at the expense of probably
the most valuable shared public asset the citizens have - the Public waters. There is NO we
the people in their vision.

At my last my property -2110 Shine Rd. In spite of my efforts and expense to encourage
neighbors at either side to use less aggressive approuchs at the bluff and beach level, I
saw most of the examples of poor stewardship played out as a negative impact on their beach
areas ; the sad fact was neither of them gave a damn about the beach or its assets. It was
all about appearances! Generally speaking, an armored beach front has little to offer but
neatness. No interest, No fun, No discovery , Little productivity. The bluff edge - high
maintenance, poor plant performance if non -native.

Sincerely ,

Gary D.
