* Iran Briefing & Impeachment Vote: This week, I attended classified briefings with my colleagues regarding President Trump’s decision to circumvent Congress to attack Iran last weekend,
which was unconstitutional and terrifying. This decision has put our service members, the American people, and innocent civilians in the region at significant risk — with no clear objective

needed to be scheduled within two legislative days). There was a Republican motion to table the resolution (which effectively prevents a straight yes or no vote on whether or not he
should be impeached). I voted against tabling it – the President must be held accountable.
* Oversight Committee Hearing on “The Real Cost of DEI” (cue my eye roll): The Republican Majority on the House Oversight Committee continues to focus on anything but holding the President
accountable and reducing costs for the American people. The Subcommittee on Health Care and Financial Services held a hearing this week on “The Real Cost of DEI.” I focused my questioning
on the impact of cutting funding for research into Black maternal health and how this will impact the broader health outcomes for Black, Hispanic, and Indigenous women. Watch here.

we introduced alongside Senators Cantwell and Murray to transfer land for the Lower Elwha Klallam Tribe and Quinault Indian Nation to be held in trust, were passed out of the House
Natural Resources Committee. What does this mean? It means that our bills are that much closer to final passage by the House!
