On June 26, 2025, the Department of Commerce published a draft of the 2026 Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) Model Plan Application.
The 2026 Model Plan Application describes how the state of Washington, with community-based agencies and local governments, will provide energy assistance and weatherization services

Commerce is accepting public feedback about the 2026 LIHEAP Model Plan.

* Attend the public hearing: On August 4, 2025, Commerce will conduct a public hearing about the 2026 LIHEAP Model Plan Application over Microsoft Teams. Public comments are encouraged.
