Daytime road work happening on US 101 at Lake Crescent Tuesday, July 15
PORT ANGELES – Travelers who use US 101 at Lake Crescent will want to plan additional travel time.
From 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, July 15, Washington State Department of Transportation crews will reduce sections of US 101 to one lane between Sol Duc Hot Springs Road and Aurora Creek.
What to expect
* One-way alternating traffic guided by a pilot car.
* Traffic stops of up to 15 minutes in each direction during work hours.
Crews will start work at milepost 220 near Sol Duc Hot Springs Road and move east to milepost 225.
The lane closure creates a work zone for crews to mow and cut back overgrown vegetation. This helps improve site distance along the highway. During the work, volunteer crews will pull
noxious weeds by hand along the roadway.
Hot weather or excessive heat may force the work to be rescheduled.
Whenever near work zones please:
* Slow down – drive the posted speeds, they're there for everyone’s safety.
* Be kind – Workers are out there helping to keep everyone safe and improve the roadways.
* Pay attention – both to workers directing traffic and to fellow travelers.
* Stay Calm – expect delays, leave early or take alternate routes if possible.
