Hi Donna-
Although Killapie Road was closed quite a few years ago due to significant slope instability, it is still
on the County Road Log and located on 60 feet of deeded county road right-of-way per the Killapie
Beach plat. No development (or storage) is to be allowed/permitted within the county road right-of-
way. As I understand, this is not a new issue. From Public Works perspective the County should not
be issuing new permits to the property owner until this issue is addressed. Furthermore, the road is
closed due to known safety issues, so if the proposed development has an upland component that
requires vehicular access via the closed road we should be thinking twice about that.
