Appointment of Jeff Com E911 Coordinator to attend State
911 MeetingslForums
STATEMENT OF ISSUE: JeffCom 911 receives approximately $326,000 annual revenue
from the Washington State Military Department 911 Grant. In order to meet the requirements
of the contract, the E911 Coordinator must attend 5 of the 9 Advisory Committee Meetings,
and 3 coordinator Forums.
ANALYSIS: Monthly meetings and quarterly forums are held at various locations throughout
the State and can require 1-3 day commitments. On January 14,2010 theJeOCom
Administrative Board appointed new JeOCom Director, Janet Silvus as the E911 Coordinator
replacing Sunny Fortino who served in the interim until a JeOCom Director could be hired.
The Wasbington State Military Department Enhanced 911 office requires that a letter be
signed by all Jefferson County Commissioners approving this appointment.
FISCAL IMPACT: It is imperative that the E91l Coordinator attend the required meetings
and forums each fiscal year to meet the contract requirements for funding.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve and sign the letter to State 911.

On August 26,2010 the Jef!l::om Administrative Board unanimously approved a motion appointing Jef!l::om Director
Janet SiIvus as the E911 Coordinator. I am replacing Sunny Fortino who served as the interim E911 Coordinator for the
past 7 months. I will attend the E911 Advisory Committee Meetings and Coordinator Fonnns as required by our
contract with the Washington State Military Department Enhanced 91 I Program.
