Description -
A brief description of the agenda item.
Setting hearings for the Commissioners to take comments for and against a
proposed Resolution to support Jefferson County Proposition No.1 that is on the
November election ballot. Proposition No. 1 would, if approved by the County's
voters, result in an increase in the sales tax rate for Jefferson County from 8.4%
to 8.7%.

The Commissioners passed Resolution No. 32-10 placing Jefferson
County Proposition No. 1 on the Novemberballot. The Board of
Commissioners may support a ballot proposition so long as they hold a
public hearing where". . . members of the public are afforded an
approximately equal opportunity for the expression of an opposing view.'

take (discussion, approval of a contract, support for a
grant, etc.)
Review and approve the hearing notice.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGS
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that 2 public hearings are scheduled by the Jefferson County
Board of Commissioners at the following facilities from 7 to 9 p.m. for each hearing:
Tuesday, September 28. 2010 at the Chimacum High School Auditorium

Thursday, September 30. 2010 at the Port Townsend Senior Center

This public hearing has been scheduled for the Commissioners to take comments for and against a
proposed Resolution to support Jefferson County Proposition No.1 that is on the November
election ballot. Proposition No.1 would, if approved by the County's voters, result in an increase
in the sales tax rate for Jefferson County from 8.4% to 8.7%. The Commissioners will take action
on a proposed Resolution at the conclusion of the hearing on Thursday evening at the Port
Townsend Senior Center.
