Various Jefferson County Road Improvement Projects
Statement of Issue:
The issue is a need for materials testing services to accomplish the materials testing work required to
complete various Jefferson County Road Improvement and Maintenance Projects.
Analysis/Strategic Goals/Pro's 8: Con's:
This agreement will facilitate the required materials testing services to be provided by the consulting
firm Krazan 8: Associates, Inc. from Poulsbo, Wa. This firm was chosen thru a consultant selection
process that included evaluation of Statement of Qualifications from the Jefferson County Public Work's
2010 Professional Services Roster and approval of the selection by the County Engineer. This materials
testing consultant was chosen to enter into an agreement, along with 1 other consultant, out of a field of
14 firms that are on the 2010 Professional Services Roster, due to their materials testing capability.
FiscallmpactlCost Benefit Analysis:
This agreement provides for materials testing services for anticipated Jefferson County Public Works
projects thru December 31,2013 with a maximum amount payable of $35,000. The maximum amount
payable for the required materials testing work for each project will be individually negotiated in
subsequent formal Task Assignment Documents, at the time that each project requires materials testing
work to be done. No minimum amount of work is guaranteed by this agreement.
Recommendation:
The Board is asked to approve and execute the three (3) originals of the Standard Consultant Agreement
with Krazan 8: Associates, Inc. where indicated, and return two (2) signed originals to Public Works (attn.
John Wayand).
