Founded by the Croome Brothers, Patrick and Liam, along with percussionist Brayden Tario, the group’s journey began in their native Canada. As they evolved, their musical pursuits led them to the vibrant shores of San Diego, CA, where they’ve continued to flourish creatively. The answer to most or all such questions is Langdon Warner, and Harvard University ’s Fogg Museum. Aug 5 (5:20) /8 (12:15) Episode 82 We’re in the Oasis of Dunhuang, and we’ve been visiting the Mogao Caves, 25 kilometers to the southeast. The caves are located along a sandstone cliff at the eastern end of the Mingsha Sand Dunes. The dunes themselves are 40 kilometers long and 20 kilometers deep. Mingsha means “singing sand” and there’s a legend behind the name…. August 12 (5:20) /15 (12:15) Episode 83 We’re still in Gansu Province and we’re visiting a lake in the Dunes south of Dunhuang. It’s called Crescent Lake, and the magical story behind its name goes like this…. The nonprofit group has only been in charge of the historic golfing grounds for a little more than a year. But there are big changes. The greens have been totally groomed and revamped. Now every day groups of young 20 or 30 somethings show up to play disc golf, which is a form of frisbee golf. Families picnic on the grounds and a new playground will be installed shortly – funds permitting. Miniature golf is in the works, as are outdoor movies. The revamped clubhouse or restaurant is opening soon. This is not your classic country club – it’s open to everyone. It’s also the cheapest golf course in the region, by far.
