SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF THE ISSUANCE OF REQUEST FOR
PROPOSALS re: 2026 Lodging Tax Funds
STATEMENT OF ISSUE:
On July 29, 2025, the LTAC met to review Request for Proposals(RFP), LTAC By-Laws, 2026 estimated
budget, and LTAC timeline. The committee approved a motion to recommend that the Board of County
Commissioners issue an RFP in an amount not to exceed $900,000 for Jefferson County tourism, for
qualifying organizations in 2026.
ANALYSIS:
Staff analyzed the finances of the LTAC funds and notified the LTAC that the available
amount in 2026 is $900,000, including$10,000 contingency fund for Olympic Peninsula
Gateway Visitor Center and administrative costs of$5,051.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This request has no fiscal impact in and of itself. However,approval of this request will lead to the award
of grants for Lodging Tax tourism promotion projects in Jefferson County for 2026.
RECOMMENDATION:
Authorize the issuance of a Lodging Tax RFP in an amount not to exceed $900,000 for Jefferson County
tourism promotion.
