Hi Josh,
The PUD has facilities in that area. Before Simms Street is vacated, an easement agreement should be executed with the
property owners who will assume ownership of the land. I am no longer in a position to advance this easement process, but I
have cc’d the current PUD General Manager for follow-up.

NOTICE OF PETITION TO
VACATE PORTIONS OF ROAD RIGHTS-OF-WAY
Jefferson County Public Works has received a petition from Chimacum Properties LLC, to vacate Simms St west of Rhody Dr abutting
parcels 942-903-705 & 942-903-704.
The Jefferson County Hearing Examiner will conduct a public hearing at 10:00 a.m. on August 15, 2025 to consider the request to
vacate these road rights-of-way. This is a hybrid meeting, you are welcome to attend in-person or online via Zoom.
IN-PERSON: 1820 Jefferson Street, Port Townsend, WA 98368, in the Commissioners’ Chambers in the Jefferson County Courthouse.

This will allow time for your comments tobe reviewed and included in a staff report and presented for consideration by the Hearing Examiner in advance of the public hearing. Allcomments received at or before the hearing will be included in the official record. You may also give testimony directly to the HearingExaminer during the public hearing.
