Expect nighttime roadwork in Port Townsend and Port Angeles Aug. 11-14
PORT ANGELES – Nighttime and early morning travelers in Port Townsend and Port Angeles should expect roadwork Aug. 11-14.
Washington State Department of Transportation maintenance crews will close lanes and alternate traffic on portions of State Route 20 and US 101.
Port Townsend SR 20
From 8:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 11 until 4 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12, SR 20 will reduce to one lane between the roundabouts at Rainier Street and Thomas Street. Travelers, including those going
to and from the Port Townsend Ferry Terminal, are advised to add 15 minutes of time.
Port Angeles US 101
From 8:30 p.m. until 4 a.m. the following day:
* Tuesday, Aug. 12, crews will reduce travel to one lane between West 1st Street and East 8th Street.
* Wednesday and Thursday, Aug. 13-14, crews will reduce travel to one lane between Laird Road and the SR 117 Truck Route exit.
Work overnight on Thursday, Aug. 14 in Port Angeles will also include a brief closure of the SR 117 Truck Route exit.
During the lane closures crews will make repairs to the driving surface of the road. The work is being done at night to minimize disruptions to travelers.

* Slow down – drive the posted speeds, they're there for everyone’s safety.
* Be kind – Workers are out there helping to keep everyone safe and improve the road.
* Pay attention – both to workers directing traffic and to fellow travelers.
* Stay calm – expect delays, leave early.
