JEFFERSON COUNTY’S RESPONSE
TO APPELLANTS’ REQUEST FOR A
SITE VISIT
Per Hearing Examiner Rule 1.9, site visits are allowable and within the Hearing
Examiner’s discretion, so long as they are with consent of the property owner or authority of
law.
In this matter, DCD’s opinion is that a site visit is only appropriate if the Hearing
Examiner deems it necessary. Respectfully, the reasons stated for the site visit appear to call
into question issues of relevancy and scope of the appeal.
Lastly, DCD does not wish to attend the site visit. If the Hearing Examiner does wish to
conduct a site visit, DCD respectfully requests the site visit be conducted alone without any
representatives present. That said, if any principal party is present, then all principal parties

representative.
