Hello Board,
I am writing in support of continuing to provide water at the Quilcene County Park. I am a Jefferson County resident in Port Townsend, and I camped at this park while on a Cross-Washington
bike ride. It is a convenient place to camp on the route after crossing the mountains from Sequim. Many people use this route, and this campsite, from in and out of state. They will
usually then enjoy a meal at Quilbilly’s or GearHead Deli, and buy food at Peninsula grocery store, or the Quilcene Village Store, thus supporting local business. Without water they
might camp somewhere else, making it harder on the bicyclists and the businesses.
Additionally, during that short one-night stay, there was nearly an endless stream of cars and campers pulling up to get water. It is clearly an important resource for the county. Please
protect it.
Thank you for your consideration.
