Looking Ahead
With new leadership and a renewed countywide mandate, EDC Team Jefferson looks to the future with optimism.
In the coming months, residents and businesses will notice a clearer front door to economic support with a robust calendar of public events, training sessions, and community engagement.
We are excited about an upcoming ‘Manufacturers’ Roundtable,’ co-hosted by the EDC and the Port of Port Townsend to address sector-specific needs, foster collaboration, and overcome
barriers to our manufacturers in Jefferson County. The EDC is also looking forward to hosting a county-wide workforce development convening specifically tailored to employers.
Key strategic efforts will include proactive business attraction to bring new firms, and investments needed by our community with an eye to strengthening our private-sector base to support
essential local institutions and service providers. Complementing this, the federally funded Recompete ‘advisor-to-advisor’ training program will open recruitment for a second cohort
this fall, effectively doubling our local business advising capabilities countywide and fostering greater entrepreneurial support.
We will continue our commitment to South County by delivering customized workforce and employer resources to meet the unique needs of this area.

WorkSource offers no-cost support for job seekers, including career counseling, résumé workshops, job search assistance, and access to training programs. Employers can take advantage
of customized recruitment services, candidate screening, and even assistance with hiring events.
The closest full-service WorkSource offices are in Sequim and Silverdale, but many services are fully accessible online. Our hope at EDC Team Jefferson is that we will re-establish physical
