We will be in Port Townsend tomorrow. We are doing some work with a landscaper and will be there for a few hours. What time would work for you? We understand that the road maintenance issue is complex. Have you spoken with Barb Paulsen who has coordinated most of the road maintenance issues in the past? She will have a lot of good information, though she has not gotten involved with Twana Way. I’m interested in fixing the road that runs through our property but not anything beyond that. A few years ago, Scott Serna repaired the steep road right above his property and we were the only people that contributed so it’s great to hear you are getting people engaged. Let’s talk more about this tomorrow. Our address is 723 MIddlepoint Road, Port Townsend. We stopped by your house a couple of times when we were at Dabob over the summer, but you weren't there. We wanted to let you know where we are in our planning process. So, your note is timely. We are at the septic permit phase. At this point, the County wants to meet with us to review our overall plan. We actually have a meeting in Port Townsend tomorrow. We're likely filing a building permit during late spring. Realistically, that means starting building (assuming the permit process is not delayed) sometime during spring of 2024. Regarding the road situation, that's a big concern in our planning process. (See more on this below.) Our desire is to work with the neighbors to collaborate on improvements needed. That was to be a topic when we stopped by. I am happy to hear that you are in favor. I have talked with Marilyn Walker, and she's on board. Glomset appears to be on board. When your email came in, Hawley had just called me (I had tried to get together with them a couple times during the summer, but it never happened due to schedules). They appear to be on board as well. Also, as part of our overall planning process, we had a "road guy" assess the situation, and we have notional prices as a result. But, obviously, the scope of work will be the driver. For example, do we keep the "berm style" drainage system, or install culverts in selective locations? Do we widen the road? What materials do we lay as the foundation, etc.). Our overall concern is access and safety. Given dry conditions that are likely to persist in the future, we would want to facilitate access by emergency vehicles to the extent practicable. I would be happy to discuss with you, and/or coordinate. From my perspective, the first step is to get consensus that repairs are needed (with your note, this process is clearly underway). The big issue, as I see it, will be to align on the objectives of the repairs (e.g., "reasonable" access, fire and health safety, improvement of property values, etc.), which will lead to the extent of the repairs. CA received 08/15/25 EXHIBIT RR19 So, I would be happy to coordinate with you and or talk through. If you are in Port Townsend tomorrow (do you still have a house there?), I would be happy to meet with and discuss further in person. We understand (e.g. we ran into one of the survey teams while walking our dogs) that you may be moving ahead with building and relocating here from Colts Neck. That move, in my experience, can be quite daunting. Just want to reach out and see if there is anything we can do to help? Additionally, as you know, Twana Way is in need of some serious road work. Although we are not directly affected by the road conditions a section of the damaged road runs through our property. We will be coordinating an effort to determine what it would take to repair the section that runs through our lot. We will be reaching out, once we get estimates, to all the Twana property owners to get the repairs underway. I was wondering if you were considering additional road repair below our area? If so, it could make sense to have all the repair activities coordinated. Please let me know your thoughts. I recall my Jersey culture shock when I moved to the area. Quite an adventure!
