The Clerk Hire-Intellectual and Development Disabilities (IDD) Program performs a variety of
general office administration duties. Provides administrative support to designated program of
the Public Health Department and assists the county IDD Coordinator and Intellectual and
Developmental Disabilities Advisory Board (IDDAB) by performing the following duties.
Works under the supervision of the Public Health Director. May received guidance and direction
from the IDD Coordinator.
This is a Clerk Hire position. Clerk Hires may work a maximum of 69 hours per month.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES may include some or all of the following.
Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals

Attends meetings and reviews recordings ofrelevant meetings, either in-person or virtually.
Prepares meeting minutes.
Performs clerical and administrative office duties applying word processing and spreadsheet
skills.
Types office documents, routine correspondence, and reports, utilizing word processing software
on a personal computer.
Uses various software to create spreadsheets, flyers and other relevant information. Enters
information into databases.
Provides general information about Public Health programs and activities. Directs more complex
requests for information to appropriate staff.
Sorts and distributes mail. Files documents.

Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and computer experience
using word processing and spreadsheet software.

Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in
one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees of the
organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole
numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and
percent.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in
written, oral, or diagram form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Required to pass a criminal background check.
