From town halls and round tables to community tours and ribbon cuttings, I’ve had the chance to hear directly from so many of you about the issues that matter most. Here are a few highlights from the past week’s visits and conversations. Hearing from Neighbors at the Tacoma Town Hall It was wonderful to connect directly with constituents at our Tacoma Town Hall. Your questions and stories shape the work I do every day in Congress, and I’m grateful to everyone who came out to share their concerns on the militarization of DC, the ongoing conflicts abroad, health care, education, and more. These conversations keep me grounded in the real challenges families are facing and the solutions we can work on together. From protecting farmland to ensuring fair markets and sustainable practices, their voices are critical in shaping policies that sustain both our economy and our food supply. I’ll keep fighting to make sure Washington farmers have the tools and resources they need to thrive. Touring Hilltop Housing North with Tacoma Housing Authority Housing is one of the most pressing issues in our community, and I had the chance to tour Hilltop Housing North with the Tacoma Housing Authority. Seeing the impact of affordable housing developments firsthand reinforced why I push for stronger federal investments in these programs. Safe, stable housing is the foundation for opportunity, and I’ll continue working to expand access for families across the district. Visiting Patsy Surh Senior Living Facility I also toured the Patsy Surh Senior Living Facility, where I heard from staff about the importance of affordable, accessible housing for our seniors. Their stories underscore the need for policies that support aging with dignity – including health care, housing, or community services. I’ll keep working to make sure our seniors get the respect and resources they deserve. Addressing Needed Repairs at the Ruston Seawall In Ruston, I joined local leaders to review the condition of the seawall and discuss the urgent repairs needed to protect both the shoreline and the surrounding community. Infrastructure like this is critical not just for safety, but for the resilience of our environment and local economy. Christening the Port of Port Townsend It was an honor to take part in the christening of the new travel lift at the Port of Port Townsend. This new lift represents an investment in our maritime economy, local jobs, and the vitality of our coastal communities. I’m proud to support projects that strengthen our infrastructure while preserving the character and livelihood of towns like Port Townsend. Casework Reminder!
