The Port Townsend Committee of The Wall That Heals invites you to join us in welcoming the three-quarter scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington D.C., and its Education
Center, which will be hosted at the Jefferson County International Airport the week of September 8, 2025.
On Tuesday, September 9, the truck transporting The Wall That Heals will arrive in Port Townsend. We have gathered a large contingent of riders and classic cars for an escort. The truck
and its escort will convene in the area near the American Legion in Downtown Port Townsend in the late morning. The escort will begin at about 12:30 PM and travel from there to the
Airport. At the Airport, The Wall That Heals will be honored as it is set in place where it will be assembled and then stand as a National Memorial from September 11 to 14.
We invite you to attend the Opening Ceremony at the Airport at 10:00 AM on Thursday, September 11. This will be a solemn event inaugurating the site which will be open to the public
24 hours a day until it closes at 2:00 PM, Sunday, September 14. Recognition of September 11th will be incorporated into the Opening Ceremony.
We hope you will join us in these events welcoming this memorial to our community. 50 years have passed since the end of the Vietnam War and many in our community have connections to
that time. The Wall That Heals is a one time, once in a lifetime, community event.
