Plan extra travel time for daytime roadwork on SR 110 near Forks Sept. 15-18
FORKS – The week after Twilight Festival wraps up, people who use State Route 110 west of Forks will want to plan extra travel time.
From Monday, Sept. 15, through Thursday, Sept. 18, Washington State Department of Transportation maintenance crews will repave a section of the roadway.
From 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day:
* Flaggers will direct traffic at milepost 3 near the Quillayute Road intersection.
* Travelers can expect stops of up to 20 minutes in all directions.
Travelers will also see an around-the-clock reduced speed of 25 mph from milepost 2.9 to milepost 3.4 until work is complete.
This work is weather dependent and may be rescheduled.

limits near work zones and occasional daytime traffic stops.

* Slow down – drive the posted speeds for worker and traveler safety.
* Be kind – workers are out there helping to keep people safe and improve the roadways.
* Pay attention – both to workers directing travelers and surrounding traffic.
* Stay calm – expect delays, leave early or take alternate routes if possible; no meeting or appointment is worth risking someone’s life.
