1st of every month - Additional interest added automatically
April:
April 1st - Foreclosure Begins -$100.00 Foreclosure Fee-Added to each parcel
May:
May 1st - $400.00 Foreclosure Fee-Added to each parcel
June:
June 1st – 3% Penalty added automatically, if applicable, per parcel
Request for Title Reports on June 20th – Approximate Cost $2,000.00 per parcel (added as they are completed)
Cost of Title Report will be added to each parcel – (2020 amount was approximately $1,200.00 per parcel)
August:
August 1st - Additional Foreclosure Fee of $400.00-Added to each parcel
File Certificate of Delinquency on August 15th – At this time ALL taxes, interest, penalty, title report, publication
cost, foreclosure fees, and any other costs accrued will need to be Paid In Full.
Publish in Port Townsend Jefferson County The Leader (cost added to each parcel)
In the event there is a structure on the property – posting by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office – posting fee added to

November:

Dec 1st - 8% Penalty added automatically, if applicable, per parcel
Tentative Sale Date – December 3rd – 4th online auction

You must be 61 years old on December 31st of the year in which you apply, or be fully disabled and have household
income of $45,000 or less. If so, you may be entitled to a property tax exemption on your owner-occupied residence.
