I am sharing this opportunity to weigh in with relevant partners who I think can contribute meaningful input, represent families or are doing innovative work to serve rural communities.
Many of you may already be working on this, submitted information or are aware of it, but I wanted to make sure I did my due diligence to make sure you are aware of this opportunity.

The Rural Health Transformation Program offers an opportunity for Washington state to support health care transformation and meet the unique needs of rural communities. Your feedback
is critical into the design of this application.
On July 4, 2025, the H.R.1 budget reconciliation bill <https://www.congress.gov/bill/119th-congress/house-bill/1/text> was signed into law. Part of this legislation included a federal
$50 billion Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP) to improve rural health care across the country.

The Health Care Authority (HCA), departments of Health (DOH) and Social and Health Services (DSHS) — in support of the Governor’s Office — are partnering to develop Washington state’s
RHTP application. Input is due by 5 p.m. (Pacific) on Friday, September 26, 2025.
They welcome responses from anyone who is interested. This could include but is not limited to:
* Tribal health organizations
* Hospitals and provider networks
* Federally qualified health centers
* Rural health clinics
* Public health organizations
* Providers for:
* Post-acute care
* Long-term care
* Behavioral health and substance use disorder treatment
* Educational institutions and health care workforce programs
* Local governments
* Emergency medical services (EMS) organizations
* Community-based organizations
* Rural residents, patients, and advocates
