Subject: mining operations on Hood Canal
Jeff,
I am glad to hear that the Department of Ecology is moving forward to ban mining operations from Hood
Canal. The Canal is much too fragile to handle the impact of such operations. If I understand things correctly,
Ecology's action will not stop the Pit to Pier project. That is most unfortunate.
Thank you for the work that you and your agency are doing to protect valuable natural resources, like Hood
Canal, for all.
