I am writing to clarify something that has been brought up in the hearing. I am the road maintenance director for Toandos Road and have done this for twenty years. I hire companies to come and do work to keep Toandos Road in good condition. Sometimes this is simple grading but sometimes it takes much more work. All the neighbors help pay the cost of this work with a graduated payment plan for full time residents, part timers, and those with vacant land. 26 of the 27 residents have regularly contributed their share over many years. (One owner of vacant land never contributes) We do not manage and maintain Twana Way. In 2016 the community decided to add a gate to the start of our road and I managed that as well. Over the years some of the neighbors who live on Twana Way have expressed concern about that road's condition. There are now more residents than there used to be. In 2022 I talked with the DiMaggios about this and the deep trench in the road behind their property. I told them I could contact a contractor to see what could be with the trench and the cost. We agreed that I would contact Van Ness Co which does this kind of work. Van Ness subsequently came out and issued a bid after surveying the immediate area around and on the Dimaggio property. One concern was about the powerlines under the road. The bid was to work on the immediate part of the road around and slightly after the Dimaggio property only. Other neighbors I was told had approached other road experts before to explore what it would cost to rebuild the whole road. I was not part of those discussions and have no information on who was involved or the details. Dimaggio's were not interested in the Van Ness bid and slow to respond to Van Ness declining the bid. I was concerned that this good company be kept informed of their decision and told Dimaggio's they needed to respond. I have heard that Dimaggio's are now saying I worked with Rathvon on the VanNess situation which is completely untrue. I never talked with Rathvon about this at all. I think Rathvon did talk with the neighbors at some later time about road improvement but I was not part of that and those discussions led nowhere. Barbara Paulsen
