This is a big opportunity to make our voices heard, which is especially urgent with a looming government shutdown putting our public lands, staff, and services at even greater risk. Visitor services touch nearly every part of the park experience, from how people get around to how they learn about history, culture, and nature. This is a major chance to speak up and ensure our parks remain welcoming, inspiring, and protected for everyone. Comment today to tell the National Park Service why you care that our parks prioritize accessibility, sustainability, and equity. <http://click.emails.sierraclub.org/?qs=ec248d82f870d533e024d854f5e20 2c646d9f107d4e4c69b4c1c8d1b393c0520b5d01c3544bed51263136d84eaf27907e194910492af7b40b54e31a5ffb229d5> Submit Your Comment <http://click.emails.sierraclub.org/?qs=ec248d82f870d533e16b1f31c3407d691c3d33d2ce6033524393ed5c820db8b7647114dc8b5a65695ee116edb39badd23ff56701eac45f481ff99aed5961fcfd> Support Our Work <http://click.emails.sierraclub.org/?qs=ec248d82f870d53356b0786defb652d9490bfdf71f1f321e8e025e9dd5a19d4ffd76dccf7a0ca87ccedc9e74306ffa88278ef16202a9787afc22051609f145c7> Trump's illegal power grabs will only make our voices stronger <http://click.emails.sierraclub.org/?qs=ec248d82f870d5331b5aa1899772557365e6784b6ffa4d42dab51ba87963cb67301b753dbabc7efc22bc1e11af13b9c4 b8bc5d510d1a3f051cdc8db626392fef> For 133 years, the Sierra Club has advocated for all Americans to have access to our public lands and safe and healthy communities. Since the 1970s, it has been one of the strongest tools we have to defend our air, water, and communities from polluting industries. But right now, the Trump administration is trying to gut critical protections from the inside out. That's why we're inviting you to a live virtual event to learn how we can all defend our environment under Trump. Whether you're new to environmental justice or a longtime advocate, join us tomorrow, Oct 1, 7 pm ET, to learn how we can act before it's too late. <http://click.emails.sierraclub.org/?qs=ec248d82f87 0d5333d1488b48b6eb05c7b77ee7c0f84760a46240a7733c8796a427fff189bf4db461db38d960d24d572dfa134803618f5824c21b48dcbf85b57> <http://click.emails.sierraclub.org/?qs=ec248d82f870d5331c48d406b663831a8c48df484ca10e00c90bf08331c28d3c823249302074728e6f2f859b64da86ee5f3b0c35c9d24ffd02f2e32453968b7b> Photo by Rex Wholster Protect Limits on This Dangerous Greenhouse Gas <http://click.emails.sierraclub.org/?qs=ec248d82f870d53349ac14bfd32fc07e1328f6d1f648be5568ca89ee517ed500b4eb1bdc5e323dac0f8e5daed6b51c7fa145a9ab876772f 95cc3e8467e1ee6a6> Methane is a potent and dangerous greenhouse gas. Thanks to our advocacy, the Biden administration acted to reduce methane pollution -- a massive win for our health and climate. But now, Trump's EPA is dragging its feet on implementing this methane rule and creating loopholes for its polluter allies at the expense of our health and well-being. We need to defend this victory. You have until this Friday, October 3, to submit your comment. Act now to demand the EPA do its job to protect our health and future. <http://click.emails.sierraclub.org/?qs=ec248d82f870d533896341b81 3ef7af88a456ef2179b3883ec65f4ad8a81981dd8e70ee898231b5055cca8018da33f408510b1f18f7b133e79e82f01aa45d02a> <http://click.emails.sierraclub.org/?qs=ec248d82f870d5336d4cb5dba9192b34a69ce031bc63b487d0a76f936d7c932e8fc51767e4c857e2cb9136f5c3180387ff264fc5fc4470e2a64916c43f982c7f> Photo courtesy of Canva How to Engage Our Peers in Environmental Action <http://click.emails.sierraclub.org/?qs=ec248d82f870d533e9d22503e7fedc0679575522d5acc5cb0790a4f7a379383969b3ab49ba94adaa6ab1f1d48ae61da30ec27014a93e142 9ddf6dc78469b5004> Building stronger communities starts with the people closest to us. That's especially true along the region's waterways, which flooded to record levels and destroyed almost 1,000 homes. Cyclones and other storms fueled by fires are leveling forests beyond repair. When a wildfire ignited in the Athabasca Valley of Jasper National Park in the Rocky Mountain wilderness, it burned with unusual power. Here's what researchers are saying about how fires are getting more destructive in a hotter and drier world. <http://click.emails.sierraclub.org/?qs=ec248d82f870d533b90180ccf3c2ea81270e6627983d32b3f0 9245b03450d976b3ae97779314483999479dabf90d137923b11eb84a831aca> <http://click.emails.sierraclub.org/?qs=ec248d82f870d53338e7061083f8533bb766af3502ee4de07bee385c8cffad882658e98b396fd8a30d3cdce27a8a35228ce42cf3de027f98> Illustrations by Laura Liedo How to Care for Your Pets Sustainably <http://click.emails.sierraclub.org/?qs=ec248d82f870d533613457204109c2995fa4fd5903244afe1abe936b8bdafe65009e774f4bc1025d91a9e83b9def8e27996957249c07ff01> According to one study, a single country made up of all the world's dogs and cats would rank fifth globally for meat consumption, delivering up to 64 million tons of greenhouse gases. Then there are all those wasteful novelties (think Pawsifico beer can squeaky toys) that end up in landfills. The good news? Consumer demand for a circular economy is driving better alternatives.
