Tell us about your event and why it increases tourism. ShrimpFest is a celebration of Hood Canal’s world-famous spot shrimp and local culture. Run by the Brinnon Fire Association, ShrimpFest has been a Jefferson County tradition for 34 years, drawing visitors for fresh seafood, music, arts, and family-friendly fun. In 2025, nearly 4,000 attendees came, many from Seattle, Tacoma, and beyond. The event generates significant tourism revenue, bringing thousands of visitors to Jefferson County restaurants, campgrounds, and lodging. 2. If this is recurring, how is 2026 different? ShrimpFest has a strong legacy, but in 2025 we primarily used online promotion. With LTAC support, we will expand to regional print/radio, rack card distribution, and targeted campaigns into Seattle and Portland, broadening reach and driving overnight stays to the region. 3. How does your event support LTAC priorities? ShrimpFest directly supports Priority #2: “Marketing and operations of special events and festivals designed to attract tourists.” It also fulfills LTAC’s additional criteria: proven track record, documented attendance, and clear potential to increase overnight stays in Jefferson County. 4. How will you measure effectiveness? Attendance counts via ticket sales and traffic estimates Surveys asking visitors’ origin and lodging type Tracking digital ad impressions, clicks, and reach Reporting lodging/camping partner data to Jefferson County 6. What economic impact can be expected? 2025 Actual Attendance: ~4,000 visitors 2026 Projected Attendance: 4,500–6,000 visitors Impact: Thousands of overnight stays in Brinnon and nearby communities; increased spending at restaurants, gas stations, lodging, campgrounds, and shops.
