I wish to register my support for the SMP for Jefferson County. It is my opinion that DOE is in a much better
position to assess the needs of protecting our shoreline and various life forms that are dependent upon clean
water for their survival. This is an extremely important asset for Jefferson County residents - both current and
future. The Jefferson County Association of Realtors, of which I am a current board member, tends to slant
toward opposition to DOE proposals. In my opinion, this is for self-serving reasons rather than looking at the
broad benefits to all residents (both those who live on land and those who inhabit the water.)
