SUBJECT: ADVISORY BOARD APPOINTMENTS (2) re: Jefferson County Marine
Resources Committee (MRC); District#1, Tim Behrenfeld; City of Port
Townsend, Steve King
STATEMENT OF ISSUE:
There was a vacancy for the District 1 position on the Jefferson County Marine Resources Committee. This
position was advertised in the paper and one applicant applied for that position.
A letter of interest was received from Tim Behrenfeld by the MRC and was approved for appointment. Mr.
Behrenfeld will move from Alternate District 1 to a voting District 1 representative.
There was also a vacancy for the City of Port Townsend position and a letter of interest from Steve King was
received. A City of Port Townsend appointment does not have to be advertised per the MRC By-Laws.
His appointment was approved by the MRC.
ANALYSIS:
It is recommended that the Board of County Commissioner's approve the following appointments:
1. Tim Behrenfeld—District#1 Representative; Filling an unexpired term that will end on August 3,
2027
2. Steve King—City of Port Townsend Representative; Term will expire on October 6, 2029
RECOMMENDATION
Approve the letters regarding the appointments to the Jefferson County Marine Resources Committee:
1. Tim Behrenfeld—Appointment for District#1 Representative
2. Steve Kind—Appointment for City of Port Townsend Representative
