Lodging Tax Advisory Committee (LTAC)
Special Meeting Minutes November 26,2024—8:30 a.m.
Jefferson County Commissioners Chambers
(Hybrid)
Members: Chair Kate Dean, Diana Smeland, Amy Neil, Kevin Wooley and Tara McCauley
Staff: LTAC Clerk Adiel McKnight
CALL TO ORDER: Chair Dean called the Special LTAC meeting to order at the appointed
time. Members Smeland,Neil, McCauley and Wooley were present.
PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD: Chair Dean called for public comments, and seven comments
were received.
DISCUSSION re: 2025 Lodging Tax Funding Awards and Recommendations: After
discussion the committee agreed to award funds to a majority of the 2025 RFP requests. The
consensus of the committee was to deny Forks Chamber of Commerce's request for additional
funding, as it was requested after the deadline. Chair Dean called for a motion to recommend the
funding amounts as discussed in the following table. Member Smeland moved to recommend the
amounts as discussed. Member Neil seconded the motion. Chair Dean opened the floor for public
comments, and seven comments were received. Below is the table that was approved:

Member McCauley excused herself from the remainder of the meeting at 10:15 a.m.
Chair Dean called for a vote on the motion. Member Smeland,Neil, and Wooley voted in favor of
the motion. Chair Dean opposed the motion. The motion carried.
The LTAC members discussed the annual capital contingency allocation of$10,000, and the costs for
staff to administer funds in the amount of$5,051, Member Smeland moved to approve the amounts
discussed. Member Wooley seconded the motion. Chair Dean opened the floor to allow for public
comments,and no comments were received. Chair Dean called for a vote on the motion. The motion
carried.

ADJOURNMENT: Chair Dean adjourned the meeting at 10:26 a.m. until the next regular or
special meeting as properly not'
