To whom it may concern:
I am writing to express my support of the Shoreline Master Program as it stands. I appreciate the consideration
given in Article 3 to all aspects and benefits of our shorelines. I think this SMP is valuable to the people of
Jefferson County, in particular those who do not own waterfront property. Use of, access to, and ability to even
view our waterways and shorelines should not be restricted to a select few. This is vital to our economic and
cultural vitality, as it is the younger generation that are most needed in Jefferson County, and this is the
generation that cannot yet afford waterfront property. This is also the generation that will have to clean up the
mistakes we make today, and I think this SMP will do a great deal to prevent such mistakes. Thank you for
your thoughtful work on the project, and for taking the time to listen to the community's concerns.
