(ECY) Subject:Shoreline Master Program Amendment Categories:LASMP Public Comment The 150 foot setback is too much. Half that (75 feet) would be sufficient to protect the shoreline, yet give property owners use of their property. 150 foot setback will encourage disregard and ignoring the law, as property owners will do more without permits because of the onerous setbacks. 150 foot setback is NOT based on science. You have discussed the setbacks in 25 foot increments - 25', 75', and 150'. If your decision was based on science, the setbacks would be in numbers very much different than the even 25 foot increments. They would be in odd numbers with fractions. The 150 foot setback is too much. Set it at 75', or provide science to set an EXACT number of feet and inches, not just some random number rounded off to the nearest 25 feet. Thank you Joel and Rose-Ellen Leonard 1
