RE:Pleasant Harbor MPR –Notice of preliminary plat application
Dear Josh Peters,
Staff at the Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe (JST) have recently been made aware of a preliminary plat
application for the Pleasant Harbor Master Planned Resort (case no. sub2023-00025) near Brinnon
with the JeffersonCountyDepartment of Community Development. Due to the complexity and size
of this proposed resort, the myriad implications to tribal treaty rights within the Usual and
Accustomed Area of the JST,and the relatively short comment period, we are requesting an
extension of the comment period to properly review and assess the project. Additionally, we would
like to request a joint meeting with Jefferson County DCD, Port Gamble S’Klallam Tribe staff and
Point No Point Treaty Council staff at your earliest convenience todiscussthe details of this project
and to clarify its implications for local tribes. We believe that an appropriate time to fully review and
comment on the preliminary plat proposal is 30 days after the joint meeting with the DCD can be
held.

Gamble S’Klallam and the Treaty Council.
