Yes, a 20-foot roadway width with 10-foot travel lanes is also adequate for fire access. This should still provide
sufficient space for our apparatus to maneuver safely and effectively in the event of an emergency.

Thank you for your prompt response, Chief Manly. Would a 20-foot width (10-foot travel lanes) also be adequate for fire
access?
Sincerely,
Cristina

Good afternoon, Cristina,
Thank you for reaching out with these follow-up questions.
Regarding the proposed roadway widths, 24 feet (with 12-foot travel lanes) is adequate for our fire apparatus
and should allow for safe and efficient access throughout the site.
Additionally, I have reviewed the layout in the context of Firewise site design standards. I can confirm that the
proposed design sufficiently incorporates these standards, meeting the requirements outlined in the
Environmental Impact Statement.
Please let me know if you have any further questions or need additional input. I appreciate your diligence in
addressing these important details.
Warm Regards,
Tim Manly, Fire Chief

Tim,
Apologies, but I found one more follow up question during my work today. The mitigation conditions from the
Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) require the project to “Incorporate Firewise site design standards in the layout of
the proposed resort, as appropriate and approved by the local fire authority,” (EIS pg. 5-6). As the local fire authority, can
you confirm that the layout has sufficiently incorporated Firewise design standards?
Thank you,
Cristina

Good afternoon Chief Manly,
One quick follow up question – the proposed roadway widths are 24 feet (12 foot travel lanes). Will that be adequate for
your fire apparatus?
Thank you,
Cristina
