Regarding the proposed roadway widths, 24 feet (with 12-foot travel lanes) is adequate for our fire apparatus and should allow for safe and efficient access throughout the site. Additionally, I have reviewed the layout in the context of Firewise site design standards. I can confirm that the proposed design sufficiently incorporates these standards, meeting the requirements outlined in the Environmental Impact Statement. Please let me know if you have any further questions or need additional input. I appreciate your diligence in addressing these important details. The mitigation conditions from the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) require the project to “Incorporate Firewise site design standards in the layout of the proposed resort, as appropriate and approved by the local fire authority,” (EIS pg. 5-6). As the local fire authority, can you confirm that the layout has sufficiently incorporated Firewise design standards? Will that be adequate for your fire apparatus?
