Pleasant Harbor should not be developed because the soils and underlying sediments are too permeable, likely leading
to pollution of Hood Canal and salt water intrusion. Bob Carson, geologist, co author of "geology and ground water
resources of eastern Jefferson County" published by the Washington department of ecology.

The county has published a legal notice for a comment period on the preliminary plat proposed by Pleasant Harbor
MPR (attached) The comment period closes September 16 at 4:30. Comments go to planning@co.jefferson.wa.us
We and our attorney Rick Aramburu have been tracking this proposal for over a year. We will submit his comments.
Here are points you can make in a comment:
Exhibit 65M

1. There remains no evidence that Statesman has the financial ability to complete all the parts of the
Master Planned Resort, which include a 200 room hotel and conference center, hockey rink and swimming
pools.
2. Statesman continues to pursue approval of small residential lots for immediate profit apparently
without building the recreational parts of the resort.
3. Golf course plan is unrealistic, with large distances between greens and next tee.
4. Putting small lots on narrow streets is not appropriate development for this rural area (10 feet between
buildings).
5. Plan for hockey rink and soccer areas vague and unrealistic.
6. No plans for required intersection improvements at Highway 101 and Black Point Road.
7. Insufficient water to meet minimum fire flows in the event of forest and residential fires.
As usual, the county dropped this legal notice just before a major holiday. .
We must continue to insist that the county does in fact hold the developer accountable. This plan appears to be some
sort of building project that makes money for the developer while it costs the Jefferson County taxpayer for
infrastructure and causes environmental damage.
Please donate to our legal costs.
