STATEMENT OF ISSUE:
Community Outreach Association Shelter Team (COAST) has recently contributed at $52,385
donation to Jefferson County with instructions to apply this donation to the expenses related to
the operation of the Jefferson County Emergency Shelter. The Commissioners would like to
express our gratitude for this essential funding support to be included with the receipt.
ANALYSIS:
A receipt for the donation from COAST has been developed and is attached as part of this
agenda request.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This donation provided $52,385 in unexpected revenue to offset the expenses related to the
operation of the Jefferson County Emergency Shelter.
RECOMMENDATION:
Sign the thank you letter and send to COAST leadership, along with the appropriate receipt
documentation.

Dear COAST Leadership Team,
For a community to meet the needs of its most vulnerable members, we know that"many hands make
light work."We are writing today to express our sincere gratitude for your generous contribution of
$52,385.00. This donation will be used to offset the expenses associated with the operation of the
Jefferson County Emergency Shelter. Because of your efforts to participate in the establishment and
early operation of this shelter service, many people who would have otherwise been unhoused have
been provided with shelter and support in Jefferson County. Even as your team transitioned away
from the direct support of this critical program,your dedicated support has ensured that the program
has been able to continue. For your tax records,the Jefferson County FEIN (Federal Employer
Identification Number) is: 91-6001322.
On behalf of those who serve,the many housing and support providers who have joined in sustaining
this program, and our team at Jefferson County, we extend our heartfelt gratitude and deep respect.
