The annual Downtown Trick-or-Treat & Parade kicks off on Halloween at 3:45 PM at Adams & Water Street. The parade begins at 4 PM, marching down Water Street to Polk Street, with trick-or-treating to follow at participating downtown businesses on Water, Washington, and the streets in between. Children preschool through 6th grade are welcome to join in the spooky fun (with an adult, of course!). Last week, Port Townsend Main Street staff and board members attended the annual PLACES Conference in Gig Harbor, where they joined workshops, connected with other Main Street communities, and celebrated local success. We’re thrilled to share that Port Townsend Main Street received the Excellence on Main Award for Best Special Project for our Mobile Greeter Program—first launched in 2024 to fill the gap left when the Chamber closed. This collaborative effort with the City of Port Townsend LTAC, the Port Townsend Creative District, and Fort Worden Hospitality has been a resounding success. The PT Greeter, cruising around downtown on an e-bike, engages visitors and locals alike with friendly guidance on shopping, dining, and local events. The program was so well received in its first year that it’s now expanding with additional greeters and more service days.
