Thriving Communities Grant Proposal
Dear County Administrator ’s Office,
The ReCyclery is requesting $1,500 to support our BIPOC and Families Healing Trauma Access
Nights program. We host these events for diverse populations in our community to increase
knowledge and exposure to bike maintenance skills for folks who may not traditionally feel
welcome or comfortable in a bike shop setting. Increased confidence with a bike can translate to
taking advantage of the recreational biking opportunities our county offers. Bikes can also
provide a reliable and economical form of transportation for everyday life.
The ReCyclery’s mission is to promote bicycle use for a healthier and more sustainable
community by providing safe and equitable opportunities for cycling through access, education,
and advocacy. This grant will help us promote a sense of belonging in the bike community for
traditionally marginalized members.
Thank you for the opportunity to apply.
Please reach out to Nick Singer ( nick@ptrecyclery.org ) or Dave Fierce ( fierce@ptrecylcyer.org )
with any questions.
Sincerely,
Heather Mirczak
