Jefferson County proudly congratulates District 2 Commissioner Heidi Eisenhour for her appointment to the Washington State Forest Practices Board. Appointed by Governor Bob Ferguson,
her term began October 17, 2025, and extends through December 31, 2028.
The Forest Practices Board is responsible for adopting rules for the Forest Practices Act, which are enforced by the Department of Natural Resources. This board sets the standards for
protecting natural resources and sustaining forestry in the state.
“We are so proud to have Commissioner Eisenhour appointed,” said County Administrator Josh Peters. “Her effective leadership and commitment to environmental sustainability will be an
asset to the Forest Practices Board and I am confident that she will shine in this role.”
Elected to the Jefferson County Board of Commissioners in 2020 to represent District 2, Commissioner Eisenhour has been a strong advocate for protecting our county’s natural resources
since graduating from Evergreen State College with a degree in Environmental Studies and Geology. She is a longtime advocate of responsible land use practices and is excited for the
opportunity to help steer the state’s natural resource policy.
“It’s an honor to accept this appointment from Governor Ferguson,” said Eisenhour, “I look forward to rolling up my sleeves in developing and adopting the rules that define how forests
are managed in Washington State. With a background in natural resources, and having grown up in a resource dependent family, I feel well equipped for this work.”
