John, something extraordinary happened this year.
For the first time, renewable energy produced more electricity than coal, and the growth in solar and wind met all new global energy demand. Around the world, greenhouse gas emissions
from power generation have plateaued.
This moment proves what we've known all along: clean energy is affordable, reliable, and generating power right now. But while the rest of the world is racing ahead, the U.S. is stumbling
backward.
The Trump administration has blocked renewable projects, cut clean energy incentives, and rolled back efficiency standards that helped lower household costs. Families are now paying
the price -- literally. Electricity rates have jumped nearly ten percent nationally in the last year, and utilities in 41 states are asking to raise rates again.
