National progress — We continued the momentum from our successful Energy Security Summit by building on the ideas more than 108 attendees — like you — helped generate in Washington

Lawmakers visit Capitol Hill after the EOPA Energy Security Summit
Afterwards, we met with Representatives on Capitol Hill to make the case for why we need environmental protections to continue for all. We let Congressional members know state and local
elected officials understand what’s happening and are deeply concerned by the direction the country is heading.
The radio shows and additional press meant we reached over 3.8 million listeners, with 168 radio stations and newspapers across the country.
We took our message of restoring key clean energy investments for security, health, and prosperity to Benton Harbor, Michigan, a small community on the banks of Lake Michigan, in July.
Mayor Marcus Muhammad and a coalition are renovating a community center that would have been powered by solar from an Inflation Reduction Act $20 million grant issued by the EPA. The
grant was rescinded for it and other projects.

In August, our press conference in Tempe, Arizona, took place at the library complex to show how solar is a natural fit for Arizona, as the complex is powered by 70% solar. We were there
to let communities know that a major $156,120,000 Solar-For-All grant was rescinded for Arizona, and other federally funded clean energy projects were stopped by this administration.

The press event concluded a weekend where we held a Public Leadership Certificate with the University of San Francisco in D.C. An outstanding cohort attended, with over 50 participants
mainly from the US, the UK, and Ukraine. Our classes continued weekly from August to October.

Offshore wind progress — Despite the federal government pulling support for offshore wind nationally in favor of fossil fuels, many elected officials from the communities that are a
part of the offshore buildouts in California continue to work towards what they see as its eventuality.
California is the world’s fourth largest economy and is respected as a global leader. Governor Newsom and the majority in the legislature support offshore wind, so do elected officials

In Northern California, the Port Humboldt can be a major hub for offshore wind development. We toured the site where the future offshore wind operations will be built. Before, we held
an informative session that updated lawmakers and attendees. Port Director Chris Mikkelsen provided an overview about what port staff and leadership have been working on to advance
future port development to benefit the community.
We heard from Core Hub Director Katerina Oskarsson, who discussed their organizational perspective on the path forward for collaborative community leadership. Then I was honored to speak
about effective methods for elected officials to mitigate the constant disinformation surrounding clean energy invitees, especially offshore wind.
