3. LTAC funds balance remaining 3rd QTR:
$46,601
4. Please attach your organization’s report for all revenue, marketing, services, programs and activities for
the quarter of July through September (3rd) quarter.
• Peak summer period is primarily focused less on inspirational marketing and promotions and more on public facing welcome and
assistance of in-market visitors
• Bear Gulch fire around Lake Cushman, Mason Co. was rarely problematic to visitors of East Jefferson Co.. but it was a constant
reminder to all viewing the Olympics from Everette to Olympia, res ulting in contestant visitor questions, and itinerary re-routing
around the impacted southern half of Hood Canal.
• VIC provided testimony to JTA (Jefferson Transit Authority) regarding the value of maintaining a VIC as considerations of the
Gateway Transportation hub between Jefferson and Clallam continue.
• Our value added testimony was bolstered by a recent statewide survey data from the Washington Destination Marketing
Organization underscoring the continued relevance and effectiveness of staffed VICs around the state.
• Jefferson County tourism was poorly served by the chair of the reconstituted TCC (Tourism Coordinating Council) failing to convene
monthly meetings, and watching the opportunity for LTAC application from TCC this year, with merely a “… (TCC) will continue to
limp along”
• The resulting 2026 LTAC deliberations required 4 meeting e xtensions to wade through the not-less-than three applications
proposing to step into the “dmo” (lower-case; ‘destination marking organization’) void caused by the chairs mismanagement of TCC.
• The Gateway VIC was pleased to be selected as a pilot to host an American Park Network T-Mobile satellite communications project
this summer to promote trail safety, and particularly targeted to hikers, backcountry hikers, etc. Through the program we added
trail education signs to Ludlow Falls Trail, and provided promotions on behalf of the Olympic Peninsula DMO.
• Thanks to funding and outstanding Ambassador staffing, we were able to operate Memorial Day – Labor Day, Monday – Saturday,
with extended hours on Friday and Saturday.
• Due in part to the newly completed SR19 roundabout we are on track to welcome over 10,000 visitors into the Gateway VIC during
2025. This increased attendance has been collaborated by our Goodman Sanitation technicians who estimates that we will service
upwards of 85,000 restroom visits in 2025!
