Re: Geotechnical Review of Proposed Septic System Location for Parcel #821104006
Dear Mr. Rein:
At your request, NTI Engineering & Surveying, Inc. (NTI) performed a geotechnical review of
your property located at 1300 E. Ludlow Ridge Road in Pt. Ludlow, WA in order to determine
the suitability from a geotechnical perspective of the location of a proposed septic system. The
review was requested by the Jefferson County Health Department. Creative Design Solutions
performed the septic design. It is our understanding that the septic system is for a new garage,
which will have a guest bedroom, and that the primary drainfield will be approximately 70' or
more from the top edge of the bluff and the reserve area will be at least 50' back from the bluff.
The review consisted of a review of available literature for the subject property and surrounding
area including previous geotechnical reports performed by NTI, and geologic maps, and a site
visit made on June 29, 2006 for visual observations of the proposed drainfield location and the
bluff.
Based upon our review, we anticipate that the proposed drainfield location would pose minimal
hazard to bluff stability. If the reserve area should ever be needed, we recommend that another
geotechnical review be performed to address any changes to the site that have occurred since
