In this session you will: * Meet representatives from multiple local market channels—such as the Kitsap Community Food Co‑op, Kitsap Fresh, the Kitsap Farm to Food Pantry Program and many farmers markets including Bainbridge Farmers Market, Poulsbo Farmers Market, , etc. * Learn which types of producers each channel is looking for, plus vendor qualifications, weekly & seasonal market schedules, application deadlines and fees. * Explore which market channel might be the best fit for your business—whether you’re a farm just getting started or an established producer looking to expand. * Engage in a dynamic Q&A to ask your specific questions and get clarity on next steps. This hands-on workshop provides the knowledge and credential you need to meet FDA requirements for becoming a Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) for human food. About the Training Led by Dr. Girish Ganjyal, this FDA-recognized course covers the Hazard Analysis and Preventive Controls Rule and prepares participants to develop and manage a compliant food safety preventive controls program. Upon successful completion, attendees will receive an official FSPCA certificate qualifying them as a PCQI for Human Food. This training is ideal for food processors, quality assurance personnel, managers, supervisors and anyone responsible for developing or overseeing a facility’s food safety plan. New! Tilth is happy to announce that they have secured funding for the 2026 WA Organic and Sustainable Farm Grant cycle!! They won’t be releasing application forms until late December/Early January, but now is a great time to start thinking about what special farm projects you might want to get help for this coming year. This grant is for applicants who are committed to implementing sustainable, regenerative, and climate-friendly practices on their farms. Tilth will be updating the grant criteria soon, but in the meantime, they recommend taking a look at last year’s information on their website. New! 2026 Farmer Fund, Port Townsend Food Coop Due November 30th, 2025 The Food Co-op is now accepting applications for the 2026 Farmer Fund, with $83,844.44 available in grant funding for Jefferson County farmers and food producers. These funds, raised entirely by our members and community, are intended to support infrastructure, equipment, and projects that build long-term resilience in our local food system. Eligibility requirements Applicants must: * Be a registered business in Jefferson County, operating for at least one year AND either: * Grow food or raise livestock in Jefferson County * OR use food grown in Jefferson County to produce their product The application deadline is November 30, 2025, and funds will be awarded in January. Projects might include anything from storage upgrades and irrigation to processing tools or structural improvements, anything that helps strengthen a farm’s operations.
