The data says otherwise....and it’s not your staff, it’s the system In a follow up social media post to the above, we provide numerous public sources that validate our approach. Property registration ordinances work when they’re administered effectively. Many communities assume their compliance rates are acceptable, but the reality painted across years of media reporting and internal municipal audits etc. tells a much different story...meaning you are leaving compliance, and value, on the table. Backlogs, returned notices, incomplete registries, difficulty locating non-compliant owners, and staffing shortages. These challenges show up everywhere. Importantly, none of this is a critique of the dedicated municipal staff doing the work today or in the future. These issues aren’t about effort or ability; they’re about capacity, structure, and system design. Our model simply gives your team more support, better tools, and a far more effective framework. Now Zillow has priced them, and the foreclosure risk just got louder! Earlier this year we shared a Joint Center For Housing Studies of Harvard University research brief (following several Wall Street Journal articles) on the concerning trend in some housing markets, hidden costs and the potential for it to result in higher foreclosures. Now, a new analysis from Zillow and Thumbtack finds that the hidden costs of homeownership add up to $15,979 per year nationwide, climbing faster than incomes, and straining affordability across the country.
