Dear Commissioners Heidi Eisenhour, Heather Dudley-Nollette and Greg Brotherton,
I moved here from Bend, Oregon 3 years ago and started taking Zumba classes at the Community Center.
I attend 3 days a week and the classes are a major part of my fitness routine.
The classes here are far superior to any Zumba classes I attended at either of the two large Rec facilities in Bend.
This particular class is very high energy and aerobically challenging while extremely intricate and mentally challenging in the choreography
which is due to the unique talent of our instructor, Bailey. I consider it a standout experience for such a small community.
I have met and made many friendships and our class is more than an exercise class, it’s a community.
I realize expenses are rising for everyone in this economy but believe there surely must be options for keeping our Community Center open and available. It is a vital part of the uptown
neighborhood as well as a historical centerpiece for all kinds of events and gatherings.
I think the community deserves a chance to contribute ideas for its support and vitality and sure hope you will take great care in your deliberations regarding its future.
The recreation center is one of the best parts of living in Jefferson County!
