On November 24,2025 the Board of County Commissioners were pleased to appoint you to the Planning
Commission(District 1).Your Unexpired Term Expires March 17,2028.

Washington State has mandated Open Public Meetings Act and Open Public Records Act training for government
staff and officials.Newly elected or reappointed members of Jefferson County Advisory Boards and
Commissions are also required to take this training. Please use this link to access the MANDATORY training:

mouse). Alternatively,you can go to the County's website homepage at www.co.jefferson.wa.us click on"How
Do I . . ."and click on"Open Government Training"under the `Find' section.Note that there are also Records
Management and Retention trainings that we ask that you also take.
Once you have completed each training,please print and sign a certificate. The County will need a copy of your
certificate to show that you have completed each course.
You have 90 days from your appointment date to complete this training. You must complete the training every 4
years. If you serve on more than one advisory board you only need to complete the training once and provide one
copy of your signed certificate.
We feel certain you will make a worthwhile contribution in this service to the community and we appreciate your
willingness to devote time to this Board.

SUBJECT: Planning Commission Appointments (2)re: District 1; Devin Gonzalez; to
serve an unexpired term to expire March 17, 2028, and District 3; Sunny Allen;
to serve an unexpired term to expire March 17, 2029
STATEMENT OF ISSUE:
On November 24, 2025, the Board of County Commissioners deliberated on six applications and appointed
Devin Gonzalez,to the District 1 position due to the resignation of Ahren Stroming with an unexpired term to
expire March 17, 2028, and Sunny Allen, to the District 3 position as a vacant position opened up due to
Richard Hull moving out of county with an unexpired term to expire March 17, 2029.
ANALYSIS:
As the current body continues its work on extensive public outreach, hearings, and recommendations
for the Comprehensive Plan Periodic Update,we are happy to fill vacant positions.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no fiscal impact to the County's General Fund from this decision. The Planning
Commission serves on a voluntary basis, and are provided a $50 stipend for attendance,
participation in meetings, and being active in the community. Planning Commission funds are
provided by the Board and administered by Community Development.
RECOMMENDATION
Approve the letter for the appointments to the Jefferson County Planning Commission:
Devin Gonzalez—Representing District 1
Sunny Allen—Representing District 3
